The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are global plans for inclusive development. The main objective is to foster growth and well-being for individuals and the environment, both now and in the future. Psychology, encompassing aspects of human behavior, cognition, and socioemotional well-being, can play a crucial role in advancing individual, family, and community growth on a global scale. This alignment is evident in various SDGs, including no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure growth, reduction in inequality, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnerships to achieve these goals.
However, the functional role of psychology still needs to be pursued again, especially in the Digital Era. Recently many scientists and psychologists have been committed to encouraging action to achieve the SDGs by applying psychological science to improve well-being, peace, and equality globally. Thus, we need a discussion to share and explore more about the role of psychology nowadays that can contribute to these goals. The Sixth International Conference of Psychology (ICoPsy) presents the issues titled ‘Psychology and Sustainability: Improving, Innovating, and Creating Better Life in the Digital Era.
