The Third International Conference of Psychology (ICoPsy) presents the issues
with the title ‘The Role of Psychology in the Post-Pandemic Era: Change and
Adaptation to Respond the Latest Challenges and Socio-personal Tasks’. This forum
will be held virtually with the aim of answering the question of how psychology helps
people in the various backgrounds and cultures to achieve positive, optimal conditions to
face the challenges of the post- pandemic that have undergone many changes.

Prof. Sheng-Ju Chan, Ph.D
Prof. Sheng-Ju Chan, Ph.D – Graduate Institute of Education, National Chung Cheng
University, Taiwan
Sheng-Ju Chan is a respected Taiwanese educator, researcher and scholar in the fields of higher education studies, education policy, international education and comparative education. He received his PhD in Education at the University College London in the UK in 2006.
Currently a professor at the Graduate Institute of Education at the National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Taiwan, Chan is also an administrator, serving as the Associate Vice-President for Research and Development at CCU. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the Master Program in Educational Leadership and Management Development, an international graduate program offered by CCU’s College of Education. Prior to these, he was a faculty member at National Chiayi University’s Graduate Institute of Educational Administration and Policy Development.
Chan’s work as an education scholar has focused on a range of areas, such as academic mobility, reforms in higher education governance, massification in higher education, and cross-border educational collaborations, among many others. While his work has placed special focus on Taiwan and East Asia, he has also done comparative studies on the Asia-Pacific and the UK. He has written over 40 articles published in notable journals such as the Asia Pacific Journal of Education and the Higher Education Policy; and has written and edited more than 15 books/book chapters. His most recent book publication is a co-edited volume entitled, Talent Competition and Circulation of Higher Education in East Asia (2016, Springer). A prolific researcher, he is also the recipient of over 20 research grants, the most recent one for a project that explores the regional integration movements in Asia and their implications on the spheres of politics, economy and education.
He has been invited as visiting professor at the Hong Kong Institute of Education (February 2012), as visiting researcher/research fellow at the University of Malaya, Malaysia (August 2014), and as honorary professor at the UCL Institute of Education, UK (December 2015 – July 2016). The expertise that Chan brings to Taiwan and East Asia’s practice and study of Education has earned him the Research Award from the Chinese Educational Academic Societies in 2011, and the Award to Excellent Talent from Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology in 2014.
